Mrs. Barbara Hollish teaches first through fifth grade gifted students at the Upper Moreland Elementary Center. This is her 26th year of teaching in Upper Moreland, and her sixth year as a gifted support teacher. She is very excited to begin a new school year with such an enthusiastic group of learners. Mrs. Hollish earned her Bachelor’s degree from Lebanon Valley College and her Master’s degree from West Chester University. Since her very first day of kindergarten, way back when, Mrs. Hollish became enchanted with learning new things and knew she wanted to become a teacher. Since 1992, she has enjoyed helping elementary children of all ages and abilities also become excited about making their own discoveries. She has taught general education classes at the second, third and fourth grade levels and spent time as a Writing Extension teacher for first through fifth grade students before making the transition to gifted support services.

In her personal life, Mrs. Hollish is married to Lew Hollish, a contractor, and has two children who keep her life outside of school very busy. Lewie, 15, is in the tenth grade this year in the Hatboro-Horsham School District and enjoys playing baseball, soccer and basketball. Samantha, 13, is an eighth grader at the middle school and also plays soccer and basketball. And of course her family would not be complete without their sweet Mabel, a 5 1/2 year old blue Great Dane. Mrs. Hollish loves to read and enjoys spending time outside working in her gardens, hanging out with her kids, enjoying vacations with her family (this year we were able to spend a week in Jamaica!) and attending sporting events. Go Eagles!
